Sep 2- You’ve been in Multicultural Literature for about 4.5 weeks. How has the class been going for you so far?

Response: So far, this class has challenged me to use a different part of my brain and change my strategies and learning habits to adapt to the class. This is the first English class that makes me feel responsible. In the past, I've had strict, boring, talkative, overassigning, rude, uninterested, overly laid back, and awful teachers. I feel as if every teacher, especially English teachers that I have had never really let me see the true potential of who I can be academically. With this class however, it discusses topics about multicultural literature, what your identity is based on your background, and stories from a variety of different cultures. I feel like most students like to talk about themselves and want to share their lifestory with people so others can see that there is more to them than it seems. Everyone in this world has a story. However, I feel like in most classes, you can't really express yourself in that way fully. Overall, this class has been inspiring to see the extent to which you can express your identity and culture with others, often challenging my mind or morals to think differently than I normally would. It keeps a professional and appropriate setting among the students and the material we are learning, while also leaving room to dive into personal matters we all have within ourselves. And NO I am not just saying this to get a good grade or anything like that, I just really like this class and the teaching style because I've never had something like this before. Overall 10/10!! :)

Summary: Today, we worked on our vocab image assignment.

Reflection: With most classes, we all have something we don't like about the class, but deep down we all know it's with the best intentions of our education. For me, it's that we have a lot of work in this class and have to be really on top of things in a responsible way, but I really like this fact because I feel at this point in my life I have to be as responsible as I can be with my work, girlfriend, family, and other matters. So even if it can be tedious and I am hard on myself when I miss a due date, I'm really grateful for all the assigments.

Dec 2 - In Letters 46–50, Celie begins to see Albert more clearly—his flaws, his regrets, and the ways he changes when he is no longer in complete control of her. Their relationship slowly shifts from fear and dominance to honesty and distance. Write about a relationship in your life that changed over time as you grew older or more aware. What made the dynamic shift, and how did your understanding of that person evolve?

Nov 19 - As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?
