Sep 5 - You are working on your storymap which is reflection on your past. Thinking about your future, as you graduate high school, what role does the Atlanta metro area play in your life? Do you plan to stay or move away? Explain your reasoning.

Response: As I am preparing to graduate high school, my decision on where I want to end up still remains a mystery. My options so far are to either go to the University of Barcelona with my girlfriend, a university in London with my girlfriend, take a gap year while staying in Atlanta with my girlfriend to save up my money, or the most likely scenario is that I will go to GSU. Ever since I was younger, I have always felt a special connection to the city and have always wanted to temporarily live there. Not for a vacation, but also not permanently living there. I just want to have an experience in the Atlanta city, and I feel that going to GSU would be the best way to live that life. I don't have any intention to leave Georgia, but my future still seems uncertain, so I won't settle on anything yet. I just hope that wherever I end up will be somewhere that I truly want to be.

Reflection: Our storymap reflects our past, but it is also important to focus on the future of our story map, too, like where we are going to end up.

Response: My mother tells me this story every year on my birthday and cries without fail every time. I was born on May 10th, 2007, at Gwinnett Hospital around 1:00 pm. My mother had to have an emergency C-section because I was pretty sick from an infection that I had. The birth overall wasn't too bad for my mother and my dad, but my mom could tell something was wrong with me when her water broke in the bathtub, and the color was discolored and yellow. Sep 3 - Think about a moment when you challenged your parent(s)’ rules or expectations. How did you feel, and what was the outcome?

Response: The first thing I will say is that neither of my parents are strict in the slightest. I don't know any other kid who has this amount of freedom, but also love from their parents like my sister and I do. I'm allowed to stay out late (most days), I can have my girlfriend over whenever and wherever I want, I have free use of the car at all times, and ever since I turned 10, I have never had a bedtime. They're the type of parents to let me do as I please, as long as I am doing good in school and can stay responsible with the amount of freedom they give me. But even when I am slipping very badly in school (like last year and the year before), I've learned that they don't really care all too much if I am irresponsible with my choices and freedom. Oct 9 - Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Response: A talk I had with my therapist recently really helped me figure out where I want to go in my life. I was talking to my therapist about the colleges I was considering, whether I would go to a college in Georgia or overseas with my girlfriend. My therapist pointed out that when I was talking about going to college overseas, I seemed unsure, upset, and disinterested in the entire idea of it. However, my therapist pointed out that when I was talking about going to Georgia State, my eyes seemed to light up at the idea of living out my college years there. I feel like her words in this conversation helped me realize what kind of future I want and to start making important decisions based on what my mind and  my heart are telling me.
