Oct 24 - Describe a time you couldn’t stop laughing.

Response: A time when I couldn't stop laughing was when I was playing online with my friends around 2 years ago, and all of us were playing this game called Lethal Company. I was taking a leave of absence from school because of mental health issues and was admitted into a 3-month program. Besides the program, I didn't have anything else to do except play online games with my friends all day. That time in my life was one of the hardest challenges to overcome, and I don't think I could have done it without my friends online during that winter. One time while playing Lethal Company, we landed our ship on a moon that we were pretty familiar with, but the game had updated to include more monsters and events. Unfortunately, all 8 of us did not realize this fact until it was too late. Usually, we split up whenever we play this game, but for some reason, we were all bunched together in this really tiny hallway inside the facility. All of a sudden, we hear this snapping noise from behind us, like scissors are being violently closed and opened. Next thing we knew, this monster with barbershop scissors was chasing us and had already killed 2 of our guys. All of us burst out into laughter that was coated with fear as we ran away. At the end of the hall, there was a tall white creature with arms and legs the size of its whole body waiting for us. We ended up getting trapped between the two monsters, and all of us died. All 8 of us could not stop laughing at how ridiculous that series of events was, and it was the first real laugh that I had had in a long time. During this time, I had lost a lot of friends because I had to switch schools, but this moment right here reminded me that I still do have real friends who care about me and just want to hear me laugh. I even have this clip recorded on my computer too, so I can look back at it whenever I want.

Summary: Today, we worked on our one-pager.

Reflection: Laughter is a great way to express joy and delight with others, but it also helps us smile internally in our hearts.

Their relationship slowly shifts from fear and dominance to honesty and distance. Write about a relationship in your life that changed over time as you grew older or more aware. What made the dynamic shift, and how did your understanding of that person evolve?

Nov 19 - As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?
