Oct 7 - Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Response: One day at my cashier/barista job, I had to ask a customer to leave the store. I am not one to make a customer leave the store, let alone make anybody upset. However, on this day, my coworker was on her lunch break, and I was running the store alone. The place I work at is a small matcha cafe shop that doesn't have too many customers, but we sure have a lot of customers with character. I could already tell when this "customer" came in that he was not going to be buying anything because he was talking to me at he counter for around 2 minutes with a line behind him. He was giving me an attitude like he was trying to get me mad or something, and because of how much time he was taking up in the line, I told him to step aside or order when he was ready so other customers could order. I know this isn't the biggest accomplishment I should be celebrating, but taking charge of a store by myself without the help of my adult coworker made me feel proud.

Summary: Today, we worked on our characterization poster.

Reflection: This class in particular makes me step out of my comfort zone. I have to be vulnerable, think about scenarios I had never thought about, and talk about uncomfortable things. However, I think most students can agree that this class is very helpful with our day-to-day lives.

What made the dynamic shift, and how did your understanding of that person evolve?
