Nov 17 - Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

Response: With my video, I was trying to show how letter 21 in The Color Purple starts out with tension but ends with relief and friendship. The letter dives into the confrontation between Sofia and Celie when Sofia finds out that Celie told Harpo to beat her, and they end up making up about the whole situation while becoming closer as friends. The videos from Adobe that I put into my video helped represent the specific quote's emotion and also the expression that the character would be showing. The music was hopeful, as it represented the hope of a new friendship between Celie and Sofia.

Reflection: Videos are a great way to represent and express yourself through a creative form. This very fact is why I love making videos like these so much.

Response: My mother tells me this story every year on my birthday and cries without fail every time. I was born on May 10th, 2007, at Gwinnett Hospital around 1:00 pm. My mother had to have an emergency C-section because I was pretty sick from an infection that I had. The birth overall wasn't too bad for my mother and my dad, but my mom could tell something was wrong with me when her water broke in the bathtub, and the color was discolored and yellow. Sep 3 - Think about a moment when you challenged your parent(s)’ rules or expectations. How did you feel, and what was the outcome?

Response: The first thing I will say is that neither of my parents are strict in the slightest. I don't know any other kid who has this amount of freedom, but also love from their parents like my sister and I do. I'm allowed to stay out late (most days), I can have my girlfriend over whenever and wherever I want, I have free use of the car at all times, and ever since I turned 10, I have never had a bedtime. They're the type of parents to let me do as I please, as long as I am doing good in school and can stay responsible with the amount of freedom they give me. But even when I am slipping very badly in school (like last year and the year before), I've learned that they don't really care all too much if I am irresponsible with my choices and freedom. Oct 9 - Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Response: A talk I had with my therapist recently really helped me figure out where I want to go in my life. I was talking to my therapist about the colleges I was considering, whether I would go to a college in Georgia or overseas with my girlfriend. My therapist pointed out that when I was talking about going to college overseas, I seemed unsure, upset, and disinterested in the entire idea of it. However, my therapist pointed out that when I was talking about going to Georgia State, my eyes seemed to light up at the idea of living out my college years there. I feel like her words in this conversation helped me realize what kind of future I want and to start making important decisions based on what my mind and  my heart are telling me.
