April 24 - What is the most exciting thing about graduating high school for you personally? In your response, explain what you are looking forward to most after graduation (college, career, independence, travel, etc.) and why it matters to you.

Response: Personally, I'm excited to graduate high school so that I can finally move on with my life. I had to take an extra year of high school because of mental health struggles in Junior year, so it feels like I've been in high school for forever. All my friends have already graduated or are in the grades below me, I only have 4 classes this school year so I feel very disconnected to my peers, I've been stuck at my boring job for almost 2 years now because I need the hours, and I'm just so done with being in high school. I can't wait to finally move onto a different chapter in my life after being in the same one for half a decade. Mostly, I'm most excited about college life and living in the dorms. I'm going to Georgia State University, which has always been my dream school and a personal dream of mine to live in the city. Once I graduate high school, I'm going to get a good paying summer job, make a bunch of YouTube guitar videos, start a new series on TikTok giving advice to those who are struggling with their identity like I was, and finally go back Puerto Rico again (hopefully with my girlfriend this year). Although my time at Lakeside has been wonderful, I'm definitely ready to leave.

Summary: Today, we watched a Ted Talk about find out our path in life.

Reflection: Most students graduating high school don't plan for what lies ahead in a few months, but I hope that I can spend my summer preparing for the new chapters that are to come.
